When did it start, why, and what do we do with it?
WHEN: I have no idea when it started. Not all that long ago I think. Seems it is like many things that just kind of creeps up on us and then BAM here it is. You never even saw it coming. But it is here. Is it good for us or not? Maybe in some ways it is, but others I do not think so.
WHY: is it so we can say things without offending certain people? Offending certain groups, cultures, etc? They can say Happy Hanukkah but we can not say Merry Christmas. They try to kill us, behead people, kill innocent men women & children but we can not call them terrorist. I think there is something wrong with that. We say something and the other person now has to decipher what we meant. It is like double talk, a riddle or a test to see what the real meaning was. And then when you do say exactly what you mean, you can be labeled as insensitive.
WHAT TO DO WITH IT: My opinion is that we should be sensitive to others, have compassion, but we too should say what we mean and mean what we say. Those who would try to cause terror by killing innocent men, women & children and want us dead by any and all means possible are in fact terrorist.
I also think if you’re of the Christian belief you should say Merry Christmas. If someone says to you I am Jewish, then say Happy Hanukkah to them, and really mean it.
I also think everyone should RESPECT others opinions as they should respect ours. If you support one party or the other, you can agree to disagree without any violence. Do it with mutual respect. Political correctness is one of many items destroying American from with in. I do not think any Armed Forces will ever defeat American. I do think America will allow itself to be destroyed and it is possible not one shot or missile will be fired. I really think that is possible.
